The BuccaneersThe Buccaneers is a television drama aimed mainly at children. The show originally aired from 19 September 1956 to 12 June 1957.

The series starred Robert Shaw, as Dan Tempest and followed his adventures and that of his crew, all former pirates as they sailed in their ship 'The Sultana'.

The Buccaneers was just one of many swashbuckling adventure series, that were popular during this period.

Two of the characters were historically based, Woodes Rogers and Blackbeard the famous pirate.
