The Adventures Of Robin Hood |
The Adventures of Robin Hood is a television series made in Britain. It first aired on September 22, 1955, running until September 26, 1960. During this time there were four seasons and a total of 143 episodes broadcast.Richard Greene starred as Robin Hood, and many actors, who later became stars, appeared including Patrick Troughton, Jane Asher and Michael Caine.
A large proportion of the writers were in fact Americans, who had been blacklisted during the McCarthy era. Another interesting fact is that English historians were hired as consultants. Their knowledge proved a great help in creating some of the plots.
The show also had a famous theme the words of which ran:
