The Beverly HillbilliesThe Beverly Hillbillies ran for nine seasons with the first show broadcast September 26, 1962 and the last airing on March 23, 1971. The show was panned by most critics, but was a massive ratings success, twice taking the number one spot as series of the year.

The Beverly Hillbillies tells the story how Jed Clampett whilst shooting at game in Tennessee accidentally hits oil. Over night the family become millionaires and move to Beverly Hills, California.

The main theme and humor are derived from the conflict of cultures between the family and their new found neighbors.

Because of its popularity The Beverly Hillbillies spawned other shows with a similar 'fish out of water' theme, like Petticoat Junction, McCloud and The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.

Season 1 Episode 6 - Trick Or TreatGrannie is getting homesick and complains that no one has called on the family. Jed suggests that they do the calling. Season 1 Episode 8 - Jethro Goes To SchoolJed thinks Jethro needs education, so sends him to school. When the owner meets the two, she thinks that it some kind of prank.
